“The nice boy in the neighboring pit who seems so self-possessed in front of the camera does not know what will happen to him tomorrow or next month or next year; he doesn’t even know whether or not he will be able to get out of the well at all. It’s possible that he might make it, but by doing so, he will only have solved his own problems.”
