“DEAD LANGUAGES DANCE
FALL COLLECTION ”, 2013

The project “Dead Languages Dance. Fall collection” is multilayer, arousing familiar themes. For example the languages’ death is a well-known problem, but they rare understand it in numbers.
Every two weeks one language dies.
During the life of the last three generations 200 out of
6000 languages have already disappeared.
538 languages are in a critical juncture.
502 languages are under a serious threat.
651 languages are in danger.
607 languages are in a slippery condition.*
Dead, dying, emerging languages and their surrogates form the human cultural ornament and not only the linguistic one.
I look at it, naturally, as an artist, adding other themes and contexts to it, creating another visible way of understanding this cultural and linguistic problem.
The “Dead Languages’ Dance” as a project-ornament can be realized only in the space of a forced Interlude between serious discussions of serious themes. It is an out-of-genre pause where the author’s thought-saying is put in the space as a visible image connecting the impossible – serious and absurd. These two notions often meet in the Historical
interlude creating a real “dance of death”. In this point of horror the logic bears against common uncertainty and all what is left – is to breathe in these smells of dissolution and hold next to the cheek the dancing inevitability or to drink with it brotherhood looking in its empty eyes while understanding that you are not on the glamorous party now but on the feast of a human outrage. It is in this very moment when we come to an understanding of whether we are alive or dead.

Проект “Пляска мертвых языков. Осеняя коллекция одежды” многослойный, затрагивающий хорошо известныe темы. Например, смерть языков – проблема, знакомая многим, но редко в цифрах. Kаждые две недели умирает один язык.
За период жизни последних трех поколений из 6000 существующих в мире языков уже исчезли более 200

Мертвые, умирающие (деградирующие), рождающиеся языки и их суррогаты образуют культурный орнамент человечества, не только языковой. Я подхожу к нему, естественно, как художник, вплетая в него другие темы-линии, создавая другой, видимый узор понимания культурно-языковой проблемы.
Проект-орнамент “Пляска мертвых языков” реализуется лишь в пространстве вынужденного Антракта – между серьезными обсуждениями серьезных тем. Это внежанровая пауза, где авторское размышление-высказывание зависает в пространстве в виде некоего зримого образа, соединяя почти невозможное – серьезность и абсурд. Эти два понятия часто сходятся в точке Исторического антракта, образуя реальный “танец смерти”. В этой точке ужаса логика мысли упирается в пошлую неопределенность, и остается, вдыхая миазмы разложения, лишь прижимать к щеке танцующую неизбежность или пить с ней на брудершафт, смотря в ее пустые глазницы, прекрасно понимая, что находишься не на гламурной вечеринке, а на пиру человеческого беспредела. В этот момент и приходит искомое понимание – живые мы или мертвые.
